It's Not The Uniform, It's The Man

A lot of Congressmen are expressing reservations about putting a uniformed military officer -- Michael Hayden -- in charge of the CIA. But, reading this, Cheney Pushed U.S. to Widen Eavesdropping, should remind us all that the military is often a lot more senstivie to protection of civil rights and to the importance of keeping government power channelized than many civilians.
